Wooooo! Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief! Lol, its been quite sometimes since thoughts such as "I must go watch this movie" had occurred to me, and this movie is one such movie that made me feel so.
Why? Well, for one, the genre is fitting to my taste already. A splash of gods and mortals/ancient and modern w/ cool CG. And the main male lead isn't as horrid looking as that guy acting as Edward from Twilight (which aside from being a sappy love story, I can't think of another other comment)
So, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief airs on the 11th, and of course, like any other movie, there's the premiere, on the 8th, today.
And like any other premiere, normally I don't even come close to the edge of getting premiere tickets, at all.
Not Jac LOL
I can't even remember the number of times she won a pair of premiere tickets anymore =.=
So, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief premiere includes me this time!!! Hehe XD
But it was a little irritating, since it starts at 7, and I end work at 6.30, leaving me with a mere 30 minutes to get to Paya Lebar mrt (15min) and from there to Orchard mrt (20min w/o waiting for train at City Hall) and from there, figure the way to Shaw Tower.
Gah. I took off at 6.34pm and half ran to the MRT (leg muscle still aching now) and somehow I managed to board a train by 6.45. Luck was on my side too and a train was waiting for me at City Hall.
Grr, the last part from the mrt to shaw tower is the most irritating part. How was I suppose to know they closed the traffic light there and that the only way to get there now is underground link-way via ION Orchard to Wheelock Place?
And when I reached the top floor, it turns out that they're collecting everyone's handphone! Not allowed inside?? So Jac queued to give them our handphones and I enters to 'chop' us seats next to one another.
So I went to queue up to enter, reach there, they checked my bag, tore the ticket; THEN the guy took another look at my ticket and say I was suppose to enter through the back, not here. =.=
So I went to the back entrance, the guy took half of my ticket, looked through my bag, saw my itouch and said, this is not allowed too. @#%$^&(**##E%$%*&*)WTH what can an Itouch do inside?
So I had to go back and pass it to Jac then go all the way back there again zzz.
Well, thoughts for the movie:
-Definitely awesome CG
-Likable cast. (The girl is not useless! Whoo)
-The storyline works! It doesnt jump from main pt to main pt only
-Err, I spotted 2-3 plot holes, but they're tiny enough so I got over them after a small laugh at it
-They tried to add in humuor and it sort of works, makes everything more interesting
-Last but not least, I find quite a couple of areas inside really cliche, like, you'll roll your eyes at those cliche part and feel that things won't be so coincidental in real life
But overall, I give it 4 star if we minus all the cliche parts!
PS: I ate my dinner (subway Tuna) like a hobo inside, the veggies were dropping everywhere and I can't see them...
Then Jac gave me chocolates! Haha, supposedly she made them herself. Well, they don't taste bad, but I think part of the reason why I find them okay and ate without fear of food poisoning is cuz it's really dark and I can't examine them (the appearance) LOL
